This year's show theme is - ‘The food basket of Mid. Canterbury – Paddock to picnic’.
Celebrating what is being grown and produced in our back yard and showcasing the steps from a raw product into something pretty cool and tasty.

At just $15 for an adult,
children school age and younger are free.
The A&P committee fully realise there is a lot of hurt out there at the moment and want to play our part in offering MORE entertainment for the same price.
Victor's Bar
Get ready to indulge in a fantastic experience at our brand new bar and food court! We've got a wide range of boutique alcoholic and non-alcoholic ginger beers from Crimson Badger brewing company, as well as warm mulled wine to keep you cozy. Plus, we're serving up tap beer from Geraldine's House of Hop Brewery. And that's not all - we're proud to present a locally crafted House of Hop beer, relabelled in honor of our immediate past president Victor Schikker. So come on down to 'Victors' and enjoy some delicious local food and drinks while you relax in our amazing new space!

Friday Night Carnival
Get ready for an exciting Friday night! Join us for some fun and games at our carnival, open until 7pm. With Sturgeon amusements and delicious food available, you won't want to miss out! Best of all, Entry is completely free!
We tried this last year, but the weather didn't cooperate. This year, we're determined to make a success!
Clash of the Colleges
Get ready for an exciting and fast-paced competition! Over 300 students from across the South Island will be participating in an amazing race-style event on Friday during the show. This event is all about inspiring the next generation to pursue careers in the Ag and Hort sector. And to make it even better, the one and only Tangaroa Walker from Farm 4 Life will be the MC for the day!
New Zealand Gumboot Throwing Competition
A really fun spectacle as people compete to be the Nations Gumboot throwing champion. This will be hosted on the Saturday of the show on the main oval. The current men’s gumboot throwing champion is Ashburton’s Craig Manson at 41.41metres, and Woman’s champ is from Taihape at 29.38metres
Demonstrations
Farrier AJ Hesketh will demonstrate forging a raw piece of steel into a horseshoe and then fitted onto a horse in the traditional method of forging.
Geraldine Forge are teaming up with Gameco (forge Artisan suppliers) to give live demonstrations on knife making, (Cooking, Hunting, Ornamental etc). A fascinating process to watch and understand, demonstrated by a couple of top kiwi blokes.
Celebrity Shearing
5 local celebrities are involved in the shearing competition. None have shorn a sheep before.

Roasty Douglas from Showcase jewellers,
Peter Livingstone -Principal of Tinwald School
and a mystery guest in a Gorilla costume. This will be a great laugh, so come and support these local identity’s as they try and master the art of shearing a sheep – for the first time.
Wool Impact
We are very excited to welcome the good people from Wool Impact who are championing the wonderful wool story that we so desperately need to support. They will have a large array of woollen products that will blow your mind. You will need to go and visit their site down by the sheep area.
